Becky Cecchine for Tax Collector

I have been Lower Makefield Township tax collector for almost 8 years. I have collected close to one billion dollars in real estate taxes within my 2 terms, with less than 2% unpaid. I have increased my open hours to include night and Saturday hours, having more hours open than the township. My office is open until midnight on due dates. I have designed bills that residents can clearly read and understand.

I have automated escrow payments with mortgage companies requiring many hours of follow-up with mortgage representatives.

Supplying receipts to seniors for tax rebates and year-end income tax reporting is never a problem. I have worked on the behalf of resident’s petitions regarding assessment appeals and escrow miscalculations. I am a state-qualified tax collector, completing required yearly continuing education courses. I am the only tax collector that sends out reminder notices to residents before they become delinquent, while paying for the postage myself. I petitioned the current school board to increase school installments to six instead of three to ease the burden on residents but was turned down, even after offering to perform the additional work at no cost to Pennsbury.

It is my desire that each year I find more ways to serve you better. Lower Makefield residents deserve the best. I hope that you will give me that opportunity again in November.
