| Quality of Life |
| • |
I am the candidate who is putting our quality of life above all else. I am concerned that proposed budget cuts could lead to dangerous reductions in services for our families simply for the sake of scoring political points. I want to make sure residents are getting more for their money—not less. |
| • |
Our property values are directly related to the quality of life that Lower Makefield Township offers—from police, fire and rescue services to our ability to deal with traffic, deteriorating roads, flooding and stormwater runoff. It is vitally important that the township continue to have the flexibility to respond to the needs of our residents, and not be hamstrung by arbitrary regulations. |
| • |
It’s often taken for granted, but our phenomenal parks and recreation system is key to maintaining our property values and quality of life. From our pool and library, to our athletic fields and walking/bike trails, we must not stop investing in our township’s infrastructure. As a member of the Parks and Recreation Board, I am uniquely qualified to know what works and what still needs to be done, including acting on our voters’ mandate to preserve open space in Lower Makefield. |
| A Balanced Budget |
| • |
The township’s taxes are the smallest slice of our tax bill, but there is no excuse for wasteful spending. If it exists, I’ll find it and cut it. |
| • |
The fact is that municipal taxes have been relatively constant, with the only recent increases due primarily to the need for additional police officers and fire hydrant maintenance. Contrary to what you may have heard elsewhere, Lower Makefield’s finances have been managed wisely. I will strive to continue such prudent fiscal stewardship. |
| A Green Township |
| • |
I am the only candidate who supports the township’s efforts to pass a Green Ordinance, setting environmentally sound standards for township projects so that we can not only help our planet, but realize substantial savings in energy costs as well. |
| ‘NO’ to Hospital Relocation |
| • |
I am the only candidate who has been opposed to the proposed relocation of the Aria/Frankford hospital from Day One. |
| • |
Everyone, from our seniors to our children, will see significantly higher taxes if this hospital is built in our township—and that’s not the mention the traffic hazards that will be created at Stony Hill Road and Route 332. |
| • |
As your supervisor, I will do everything within my power to block this threat to our quality of life. |
